What is sock wrestling?
Sock wrestling is a casual wrestling game where two or more people compete to remove their opponent's socks. It's often played on the ground, with participants staying on their knees, and headlocks and submissions not allowed. The goal is to remove all of the opponent's socks, focusing on "going for the foot".
Here are some rules we practice:
- Let your referee know if photos isn't OK before your match
- Agree with your opponent what contact is and isn't OK before your match
- Tops of socks must be visible (no covering with long trousers)
- No biting, scratching, punching, kicking, standing, or jumping
- Check-in with your opponent during your match
- Stop wrestling when your referee or opponent shouts stop.
Can I wrestle?
Yes, if you want to wrestle please register by adding a wrestling sign-up option to your ticket order. You will be asked to sign a waiver form before wrestling.
We would advise against wrestling if you have a concussion, neck injury, or any injury that causes pain, swelling, or instability. Please speak with your referee and opponent before wrestling.
What do I bring if I'm wrestling?
- Socks (ideally socks that aren't precious)
- Your best wrestling outfit - or just clothes suitable for movement
