📢 That’s it. We’re calling an Emergency Cabaret.📢
The world is on fire.
TERF island is a dystopia.
Trans* rights are on the chopping block.
This is cabaret as survival.
Party like it’s the end of the world. What else are you going to do?
We are a small, grassroots queer collective based in Lincoln. We started off with two main aims: first, to give a platform to local queer performers & showcase their talent; and second, to start building up queer community and solidarity in a county (and country) where the far-right is on the rise and LGBTQ+ rights are increasingly under threat. We had fun with our name - Emergency Cabaret - but it is far from flippant. We think this is an emergency, and as usual, queers must find their own ways of surviving - through activism, community, and pleasure. These are the values at the heart of Emergency Cabaret and we invite you to start building it with us.
