How does Palestinian art resist occupation, and speak truth to power?
Join MSJI for an immersive workshop led by the incredible Nasima Bee, using Palestinian comics, poetry, and art as a lens to explore resistance and liberation.
This space will be held at Levenshulme Old Library, which is currently hosting ‘Enter the Mulberry Tree and Fly Free’: the first exhibition of comic art from Palestine to take place outside of the SWANA region.
In conversation with the exhibition, we’ll creatively explore:
🖌️ How Palestinian art resists and reimagines
🔥 The role of art and culture in liberation struggles
🗣️ Holding art with care, clarity, and solidarity
🍽️ Food will be provided
All proceeds will be donated to The Muslim Social Justice Initiative, a grassroots community project for Black and Global Majority Muslims and our community in Manchester.
Tickets are free for marginalised community members (including those who are low-income).
