Difficult Relationships with Care (online)
Thursday 17th July
7:00pm – 8:30pm
Online on Zoom
In this online community space, we will reflect on and discuss the challenging realities we navigate as queer carers. Discussing case studies, preliminary research findings into LGBTQ+ experiences of dementia care, and our own experiences, we will hold space for all feelings, including shame, guilt, relief, happiness, fear, and grief.
Providing care and support to a loved one with their disability, addiction, illness, or mental health struggles can be complicated. Navigating the healthcare system, your relationship with your loved one, and your own feelings as a carer, can be difficult. Come share this online space with other queer carers, and be held by your community.
This is a community creative space for LGBTQ+ people who have provided care for loved ones, whether currently or in the past. This includes disabled LGBTQ+ people who provide care for themselves or who have interdependent caring relationships. If you have any access needs for this space, please contact christopher@queercircle.org
We strive to provide a physical environment that is accessible to all visitors. This includes:
