Please read all of the below information carefully before booking a ticket.
Camp Trans Scotland is a weekend camping holiday held near Aberfeldy in Perthshire. It’s a chance for us to be surrounded by trans, non-binary and gender non-conforming people and to be affirmed in our gender journey. We want to strengthen our trans community by sharing meals, a bonfire, workshops and space under the stars in nature.
We are volunteers organising collectively and we are learning as we go. The camp is not put on for us, every participant will be part of creating a space that aims to be safe, inclusive, nourishing and fun.
Where?
We've found a beautiful, remote and welcoming campsite near Killin in Perthshire. We will be releasing the exact location to attendees.
Access information about the site can be viewed here. Please reach out if you have specific access needs or questions.
There is no phone signal at our site. The site does not have any wifi or way of accessing the internet. There is a payphone that can be used by participants, so please bring coins. We will be taking emergency contacts for all participants and there is a phone number that friends/family can call if they have an emergency and need to reach you.
When?
2pm on 29th August - 3pm on 31st August, 2025
Anti-racism:
We are committed to reducing the harm of racism in our community and we expect our participants to work towards this commitment. We will support this work with an anti-racist training (mandatory for white campers) led by Carnelian Seville. Wherever you are on your anti-racist journey, we also encourage you to explore and study these resources.
A quarter of our tickets are reserved for the TPOC community, we have a TPOC WA group in our online community organising space and we'll have two TPOC spaces (one inside and the other outside) at camp. The onsite welfare group will be ready to intervene if harm happens on site.
Please let us know if there's something we can do to make the camp feel safer for you.
Photography at camp
The photographer/filmmaker Jules from last year will be here again. The photos & videos are part of Camp Trans Scotland archives, they might be used to promote the camp (usually without people on them), and be exhibited as part of an exhibition about trans love and community care in nature that will likely happen in the Autumn after camp.
Jules only takes photos of folks who want to be in pictures. You can let them know if you'd like to not be in photos/videos at camp or beforehand. Red lanyards are available for those who don't want their photos taken during group activities. Like last year, some workshops and the hammock space are camera free.
Cost?
Sliding scale: £30 - £70
The ticket price is to cover the costs of the camp (renting the campsite and a small budget for communal food). We are not making any money and everyone who is participating in putting this camp on - from the active organisers to the workshops givers and everything in between - is doing so as a volunteer.
If you are able to pay for a £70 ticket, you are supporting someone to pay £30.
Personal assistant (PA) and companion tickets are available free of charge upon request.
When you're deciding which ticket price you can afford please consider these guidelines:
Concession (£30): Able to cover basic necessities but with limited finanial flexibility. Would struggle to afford the festival without the concession rate.
Standard (£50): Able to afford or save up for occassional weekend trips and the associated costs.
Pay it Forward (£70): Can afford regular weekend trips and the associated costs. Financially able to give back to the community.
Access, transport, workshops/programme and other practical things?
An access walk through of the site can be viewed here.
We are figuring out these things and will update this page and answer queries sent to: camptransscotland@gmail.com
We will organise a minibus with 30 places from Glasgow, leaving at 11am on Friday 29th August. The minibus will be ticketted and the cost is £30 return to cover the hire of the minibuses.
The site has both space for camping and beds in dormitories. Once the tickets have been sold, we will get in touch to find out whether you would prefer a bed in a dormitory or to camp. There are 30 beds and, except for disabled folk - who will be prioritised, the beds will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
We are planning to reserve one indoor space as a low-sensory zone where folk will be asked to be as silent as possible.
Unfortunately the campsite does not allow dogs (except for assistance/guide dogs).
The campsite has a quietness policy between 11pm – 7am, but for sure we will have a party/cabaret on the Saturday night :)
