PAPAYA marks our return to the decks and the dancefloor with a FINAL dance party ft. the BEST of UK queer Latinx talent. As always, this night centers the queer Latinx community and QTIBPOC. ✨
We are hosting PAPAYA @ The Matchstick Piehouse on the 15th June 2019, and are pleased to welcome two of London’s FINEST queer Latinx DJs! 😍🎧🎵
GIN: resident DJ and co-founder of DJ collectives Goldsnap & Resis'Dance, and project director of Faggamuffin Bloc Party @ Hackney Carnival, GIN spins an eclectic mix of R’n’B, House, UK Funky, Hip-Hop, UK Garage, House and Disco.
D J G: resident DJ and founder of the legendary EXILIO, London’s FIRST LGBT Latin Dance club, bringing salsa, merengue, bachata, reggaeton, cumbia, salsa-choke, zapateo y electro latino.
As well as:
EL TUMA: Co-founder and resident DJ of MARICUMBIA, EL TUMA presents a tropical multi-genre mix including classic reggaeton, champeta, funk brasileiro, moombahton, afrocolombian dancehall and global bass.
DJ OPI: Co-founder and resident DJ of MARICUMBIA, OPI mixes traditional cumbias, reggaeton, latinx trap, hip-hop, and pop.

MARICUMBIA held a residency at Limewharf in East London from 2016-17, and have played all over London as well as collaborating with Sin Vergüenza in Quito, Ecuador. We push for the representation of Latinx talent in London and the UK, as the 8th largest and growing migrant and ethnic community.

ACCESSIBILITY INFO:
- The space has step-free access and a disabled toilet, however there are no automatic doors.
- Chairs will be provided around the dancefloor space which can be moved as needed.
- The bar/living room will be a quieter space with ample soft and hard seating at the bar/living room space.
- Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be served at the bar.
- The bar has a standard height counter.
- Ear plugs will be available to purchase at the event for 20p.
- No strobe lights will be used.
- Toilets will be gender neutral.
- Free tickets are available for personal assistants, please contact us if you need one.
- Flash photography may be taken on the night - consent will be asked beforehand.
