Sex doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Our culture, history, experiences & values all come with us into the bedroom, including the ideas we've absorbed about what ‘normal’ sex is & how we should be doing it.
This workshop invites participants to unpack ideas about what sex is, why we have it, where we learnt about it, what we learnt, the effects these lessons are having on our lives and how we might overcome them to enjoy better- more pleasurable, more authentic, more connected- sexual experiences.
This workshop is for you if:
- you'd like some simple, accessible, easy ways to cultivate more pleasure in your sexual experiences
-you were never provided comprehensive, relevant, practical, pleasure-centred sex ed as a young person
-you've ever had sex that felt underwhelming, inauthentic, routine, disconnected or painful
- you've ever felt performance-anxiety, body-consciousness, shame, disgust, awkwardness, embarrassment or overwhelm in a sexual situation
- you’ve ever acted like you’re enjoying sex more than you actually are (faking orgasms / exaggerating sexy noises etc)
- you’re interested in exploring why we have sex, and how successfully the sex we have lives up to the reasons we’re having it
- you’re queer and feel that the sex education available to you didn’t prepare you for the reality and complexity of your emotional, psychological and physical sexual life
- you’re not queer and feel that the sex education available to you didn’t prepare you for the reality and complexity of your emotional, psychological and physical sexual life
- For most people, it can feel intimidating/exposing to attend something like this- that’s normal! Kudos for even considering leaving your comfort zone! Feel free to reach out in advance with any questions/concerns
I look forward to welcoming you into this inclusive, sex-positive and non-judgemental workshop to reflect upon, discuss and challenge the sexual norms of our society.
All identities welcome to this fun, interactive and trauma- informed space, facilitated by an experienced sex and relationships educator.
We will-

Why attend a Better Sex Workshop?
Most of us were never provided any formal sex or relationships education. Instead we’ve done our best to learn about what sex & intimacy involve from the informal sex ed available; the internet, TV, films, porn, family, friends, partners, books, religious institutions, personal experience…
Few of us have graduated from this form of sex ed sexually & emotionally satisfied. Collectively, we far too often experience sex that’s formulaic, dissatisfying, shame-ridden & performative within relationships that too frequently feel mis-attuned. Most of us are left hurt & frustrated, without much idea how to cultivate the intimate lives we want.
I've spent the last 12 years learning about sex & relationships. I developed these workshops as a way to share the most transformative bits of this learning to support others to navigate the complicated landscape of their sex lives and intimate relationships with greater self-awareness, insight, perspective and some solid strategies to maximise pleasure, intimacy and authenticity.
