A photo-performative project Red And Free invites people to step outside the classic presence in front of the camera and try on a bodily freedom that's released from recognition and yet very personalised.
Shooting at several locations in Folkestone, I suggest covering upside down with a red cloak, removing the recognisability, and listen to your body - how do you want to move, being a red dot in that space?
The project aims to explore free movement and connect with the environment, a visual anonymity that paradoxically allows one to express themrself more fully, being freed from the obligation to look a certain way, and to manifest the childlike, magical, joyful, wildlife part of oneself.
The first performance will take place at the Harbour Arm, the meeting point is under the letters FOLKESTONE.
There will be half an hour for each participant, so please don't be late.
