A performance-lecture and participatory event inspired by artist Talia Nizarane’s first-hand experience of forced migration – both the artist and her grandfather fled Cuba, 43 years apart. The performance explores the connections between migration and the climate crisis, with space for dialogue and exchange with the audience.
Activities include drawing the Wheel of Privilege and Power, a framework developed by Sylvia Duckworth, which shows how the different parts of our identity give us power over others in society or lead to marginalisation, including, but not limited to, race, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, and ability/disability.
The project engages participants from London boroughs that have historically been affected by socio-economic inequalities and underinvestment, empowering individuals to reflect on their role in systems of power and how to create positive change through creativity. We aim to create an inclusive space for dialogue around climate justice and intersectionality, fostering empathy and cross-cultural understanding.
We welcome visitors anytime between 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
