Why somatic exercise & lino printing workshops?
As we witness multiple ongoing genocides, we take to the street and organise; yet the systems we live under are not built to hold our governments accountable for their war crimes, and our friends in Gaza remain to be subjected to West-funded settler colonial violence to this day, a reality that can easily paralyse us with grief, despair, and hopelessness.
At the same time, the Western wellness industry attempts to co-opt our language and agency, reducing healing and reparation from collective responsibility to isolated and individualised products of ‘self-care’ that pathologises our anger as personal failure and depression.
Through somatic exercise and lino printing workshops, we aim to create a space where we can unwind, reconnect with our bodies, and care for one another with creativity and playfulness. Together we will seed and nurture community resilience and hope, and learn how to stay angry together!
