Hole-and-corner urban anthropologist of Bucharest underbelly, Barabancea’s images testify to his reckless immersion into obscene rollercoaster of social exclusion, gutter life derangement, streetwise mythologies, promises of abandoned buildings if not unlikely pride of dirty pavements, survival strategies within post-communist dereliction, balkanic futurism, deathdrive hedonism subcultures, vulgar absurdity, homeless dreams, deep bottoms of grotesque desires, mental excess beyond the line of poverty & manic rage against all odds ~
