The Queer Zine Dating Workshop Series is a group of events each addressing a different aspect of dating with guided conversation, crafting and exercises to help you feel more comfortable and confident in dating
HOW TO GET GOOD AT DATING (5/7)
Don't worry - it's not a pick up artist workshop, this workshop is about how to date more kindly, more honestly, and how to truly connect on each date you go to.
We go to dates with so much brain drama - expectations, hopes, fears, stress - and all of this can get in the way of actually seeing the person in front of you and putting across who you are. Through discussions and exercises in this workshop you'll learn how to set up a date to be as comfortable as possible, feel present during, and process the interaction afterwards.
We'll also be crafting a mini zine detailing all that you've learned, as well as how to set up the perfect date for you - so you know what to suggest next time you want to take someone out, rather than defaulting to 'pub?'
Materials
I will provide all the materials you need to take notes and make your zine during the session; there will be pens, pencils, paper, glue, tape and loads of collage materials - feel free to bring along anything else you like :)
Access
The workshop is in a private meeting room in the Albany in Deptford:
- Step Free Access
- Accessible toilet
- Breaks half way through
- I'm working on an online version, but for now you are welcome to join the session via video call for free
About the Facilitator
I am Kim (they/them) a queer matchmaker and event organizer with 5 years of experience helping LGBTQIA+ folks with dating. I've run this workshop series 11 times before but this is the first time it won't be a continuous group attending all the classes - so bear with any teething pains with this change.
