A Trip to 1960s Leeds
Step back in time 60 years and visit Leeds at the dawn of a new age with a time travelling resident!
Made in collaboration with Leeds Civic Trust to mark their 60th anniversary. Visit the city in a time when terraces made way for high-rise flats, Lewis's and Schofield's battled for customers and the first West Indian Carnival was taking place. Join our promenade into Leeds’ radical past, led by a young resident of the 1960s played by an experienced actor and historian. This event is part tour-part promenade performance. This is a unique experience that shouldn’t be missed!
We will start at City Square before moving on to a loop of the city centre. This journey will take approximately an hour and end at City Square. Both local and national history will be covered. Leeds Civic Trust members receive a special rate on their tickets, no Green Shield Stamps needed!
Accessibility
The route will be step free. This performance uses audio headsets. We advise all audience members to check the Pedestrian Code of Conduct before attending. Duration is expected for about 60 minutes depending on group size and walking pace.
