🍄 Details on Workshops below.
BEGINNER:
In this workshop we take you through the very basics of DJing, explaining what a beat is, how to find it and use it to transition smoothly from one song to the next via beatmatching. We go through some of the basic functions of a CDJ like how to effectively use the cue buttons and adjust the EQs and volume to help you move from one song to the next. This workshop is aimed at complete beginners who have never (or barely) DJ'd before.
FOLLOW-UP:
We build on the basics of beatmatching from our Beginner Workshop (above) and start to explore how to deliberately transition from one song to the next. We talk about phrasing in music and how you can use it to help you bring in a new song as the other reaches a natural conclusion. We explore long gradual transitions and faster, more abrupt ones. This workshop is aimed at those who have either attended at least ONE of our beginner workshops or, at most, DJ'd once or twice. (It's still very much aimed at beginner beginners.)
