Why I Write
Gay's the Word's Uli Lenart in conversation with Elizabeth Lovatt and Paula Akpan

They'll explore how writing becomes a tool for survival, reflection, and joy - and how it allows them to reach for new ways of seeing and being. Expect a thoughtful and ranging conversation, touching on queer creativity, community, politics, and the enduring power of the written word.
Making your voice heard
Tstarnay and friends discuss queer advocacy, protest and self-identification
In a landmark year for queer protest and pride, with UK Black Pride celebrating its 20th anniversary and London Trans+ Pride drawing record-breaking crowds, this session is a powerful call to action.
Hosted by non-binary educator, spoken word artist, and socio-economic commentator, Tstarnay Francis, the conversation will focus on the urgent need for queer advocacy. Tstarnay will also explore the politics of self-identification and reflect on how queer people can raise their voices - and be heard.
Ending LGBTQ+ Homelessness
Partnering with Stonewall Housing
LGBTQ+ people are disproportionately affected by homelessness - from young people forced out of unsafe or unsupportive homes, to older people facing isolation, hate crime, and housing insecurity. This panel brings together campaigners, policy makers, and those with lived experience to explore the realities of queer homelessness in the UK today.
What barriers are LGBTQ+ people facing when trying to access housing? Why are some services still failing queer people? And how can we create inclusive, safe housing options for all - across age, gender, race and class?
Presented in collaboration with Stonewall Housing, the UK’s leading LGBTQ+ homelessness charity, this conversation will examine the structural injustices driving queer homelessness.
This is a call to action. Whether you're an ally, activist or affected directly, join us as we spotlight the work of those fighting for change.
