A photo-performative project Red And Free invites people to step outside the classic presence in front of the camera and try on a bodily freedom that's released from recognition and yet very personalised.
Shooting at several locations in Folkestone, I suggest covering from head to toe with a red cloak, removing the recognisability, and listen to your body - how do you want to move, being a red dot in that space?
The project aims to explore free movement and connect with the environment, a visual anonymity that paradoxically allows one to express themrself more fully, being freed from the obligation to look a certain way, and to manifest the childlike, magical, joyful, wildlife part of oneself.
The second performance will take place at the Stade, the meeting point is The Folkestone Mermaid.
There will be 10 min for each participant, and participation will be on a rotating basis.
