Beyond the Checkpoints – Youth Voices from Palestine
Come and hear teenagers from the West Bank and Jerusalem tell you – from Palestine – about their lives under occupation. The group includes young people from villages dominated by military camps and the Israeli Separation Wall, from the Old City of Hebron where the streets are full of checkpoints and threats from Israeli settlers, from refugee camps where attacks by the IDF have increased in the past year and from an area of Jerusalem where most homes are under threat of demolition and houses are regularly demolished by Israel.
The young people have taken part in the 2025 Beyond the Checkpoints project in Palestine and this will be their final day. Come and support them in their first experience of talking to an international audience! The session is for people of any age but young people are particularly welcome.
The Beyond the Checkpoints project is organised by CADFA, a London-based human rights charity that regularly brings young people from Palestine to the UK to meet young people in the UK. There will be more information on the upcoming youth visits available at the event and also on CADFA.org.
Hosted by CADFA (Camden Abu Dis Friendship Association) and the Critical Childhood Studies Centre (UCL) as part of a two-week exhibition and series of events - Palestinian Childhoods: Solidarity and Sumud.
