Booters is back - in a new venue!!
Following the closure of the WAP, our recurring venue over the past year, we will be popping up in new venues around London* for our next few events, to reach even more dykes across the city and beyond! We're staying in Hackney for August with an event at The Black Cat Cafe, a vegan cafe with a decades-long history of leftist organising in East London :)
Check out our Instagram with all the important info for the night, including photos for accessibility and for the vibes/line-up as they're announced: @bootersbutchbar
WHAT TO EXPECT
Come for a feed of burgers and chips, served up by your favourite butches and studs in our classic Booters uniforms! And The Black Cat Cafe will have draught beer and other drinks available too.
We'll have some of our butch/stud servers on the mic to show you a bit more of their personalities ;) And to give our attendees a chance to shine, we'll have some audience interaction entertainment where we'll see if anyone in the crowd can beat the Booters with a can of whipped cream xx
PAY IT FORWARD/ LOW-INCOME TICKETS
As always, we want this community space to be available to butches and trans people even if they can't pay for a meal out. So we have a pay-it-forward scheme for anyone who wants to subsidise a meal for a butch, stud or trans person on no/low income. We will be making these £7 meal options available a few days after standard tickets go on sale, to give time for people to make pay-it-forward contributions - keep an eye on our Instagram for details on this.
We will also be welcoming d¥kes who don't want a full meal to hang out in the bar and catch the vibes that way :) please message us if you are a butch/stud/trans+ and the contribution is a barrier!
DIETARY NEEDS/ ALLERGIES FORM
To let our chef Paz know about any allergies/ dietary requirements, there will be an option to tell us when checking out. If you have any issues or forget to tell us, please dm us on Instagram.
BOOTER BUCKS
The servers will be paid for their work, but tips are always appreciated! You can buy “Booter Bucks” on the door or at your table at the start of the night, and we will give you paper “cash” equivalent to the amount you buy so you can chose who your Booter Bucks go to. Bucks are £1 each with a 2p machine charge if paying by card.
Booter Bucks are 100% tips that go directly to the server you hand your dollar to :)
ACCESSIBILITY
The venue has one step at the entrance with a ramp available - please request this when booking if you will need this. The venue is step-free throughout inside, and we can guarantee seating for those who need. There is a step-free-accessible gender neutral toilet on the ground floor, though it is not fully equipped for accessibility and may not be wide enough for all mobility aids - find more info including photos on our Instagram: @bootersbutchbar
The nearest step-free station is Hackney Central, there are also lots of bus routes that run to nearby stops on Lower Clapton Road and other stops in the Clapton area.
CONTENT NOTICE
While this is not a kink event, it may contain nudity and/or aspects of kink (depending on what our servers choose to do), please be aware of this when purchasing tickets. Any audience participation requires the clear consent of both servers and attendees involved.
MERCHANDISE
We have merchandise! You can buy your very own Booters tees as seen on our servers, in two colour options. We even have a line of hats and mugs - just scroll down to “Add-ons” below :) We also ship worldwide!
TRAVELLING FROM LONDON TRANS+ PRIDE
Buses in central London will likely be disrupted/slow by the march, so the fastest route will likely be getting the Circle line to Liverpool Street and then the Weaver line to Hackney Downs or Clapton. These stations both have steps from platform to street, so a step-free alternative is to take the Jubilee to Stratford and then the Mildmay line to Hackney Central. The Hackney stations mentioned are all a 10-15 minute walk from the venue, or there are bus routes between the stations and the Wing & A Prayer. Make sure to check Citymapper, Google Maps, etc on the day to confirm that there won't be disruptions!
