What Will Be Covered
This workshop is an introduction to the art and labor of strip club performance, with a focus on stage presence, customer interaction, movement and how to translates in burlesque performance. Unlike burlesque, which is rooted in theatrical tradition, strip club dancing is centred around building personal connections and creating one-on-one experiences that translate directly into income through private dances.
We’ll begin by exploring the differences between burlesque and stripping from a working performer’s perspective, including a discussion on labor conditions within the UK, cultural attitudes, and the ongoing stigma faced by strippers within some burlesque community circles. Finally, we will take a brief look at the shared and diverging histories of these art forms will provide context for the practical skills to follow.
Participants will learn some classic strip clubs skills designed to attract attention, convey confidence, and establish a strong stage presence. Emphasis will be placed on body language, eye contact, and emotional intelligence essential tools for building rapport and trust in club settings, especially in environments where stage time is minimal or nonexistent.
This workshop centres stripping as skilled labor and performance, and is open to all experience levels. Whether you're new to the art of stripping or transitioning from another performance background or just curious, this session offers a grounded, respectful, and introduction to the craft.

About Victoria Rose
Victoria Rose (she/her), has been performing burlesque since 2017 and sex worker since 2016, she blends classic burlesque with the edge of modern strip club style. Inspired by vintage fetish models and burlesque legends, she has thrilled audiences across the UK, New York City, and Europe with her performances. Bringing Raw Stripper Entertainment Back to Burlesque. She also created the Great British Striptease in 2023 to bring the burlesque and SW community together to celebrate their intertwined history.

FAQ
Can I come if I haven't danced or stripped before?
Yes of course! This is not a dance class and there will be no choreography taught. It will be a mix of learning about the history of striptease in the UK, the difference between burlesque and working in a strip club. There will be some teaching of movement and skills used within the strip club and on stage.
What shall I wear or bring?
Wear something comfy which is appropriate for some light movement in and sitting. Bring a notebook if you wish to take notes and heels if you prefer to wear for movement.
I cannot afford to attend, am I still able to come?
