PSPAA: The Plus Size Pole Showcase - APPLICATION FORM
Plus Size Pole and Aerial (PSPAA) is a group established in November 2024 by Velvet Summer with the intention of creating spaces and opportunities that centre plus size folks within pole dance and aerial arts.
When attending these spaces, you are invited to show up exactly as you are, and our hope is for you to experience freedom in the exploration of joyful movement and that you’ll feel unconditional support.
Following on from the plus size jams, we felt the next step was to create a showcase where the line up comprises plus size folks only.
The Plus Size Pole Showcase is a low-pressure performance space specifically for plus size pole dancers. Performers will have an allotted time to share their movement in an intimate setting to our audience and the other showcase performers.
The application form
At PSPAA we want to uplift and create a platform for all plus size folks and this means creating a diverse and representative line up. We want all of you to feel seen and reflected on the night. This means we will be asking some specific and personal questions about you in the form. If you are unsure of how to answer, you can answer “unknown” or words to that effect. If you don't want to answer, you may respond with "prefer not to say".
NOTE - The checkout time is 8 minutes - this cannot be extended. We recommend drafting your answers outside of the application form and copying them in when you are ready to complete.

Complete an Online Application Form
Complete the online form which will ask a mix of personal and pole/movement focused questions to help us get to know you and why you would like to be considered for this showcase. To complete your application, you will need to pay a fee of £5 to help cover admin costs – this is payable by bank transfer. The details will be sent over when you submit your application.
Submit a Video Link
On the application form, there will be the option to include one video link - we will only accept links to YouTube videos (these can be unlisted for your privacy). Videos should be no more than 12 months old. Video submission is not mandatory.
Application Review
The application forms will be reviewed by Velvet Summer and CeeCee. This will take place in the 2 weeks after applications close. Once all applications have been reviewed, you will be notified if you are successful or not. There will be no feedback for any of the applicants on this occasion.
Successful Applicants
If you are successful, you will have 5 days to accept and pay for your spot. The cost for successful applicants is £20.00 payable via bank transfer. Information regarding funding for Sex Workers and people on low incomes is detailed later in the handbook.
