Up and down the country people are coming together to build Your Party. Proto-branches have sprung up across Greater Manchester to talk about what the party should look like, what local issues matter, and how we organise within the national and international contexts.
But when one of those events features an ex-Tory landlord as a speaker, branches are being set-up by members of left groups without transparency about affiliations, and updates from the interim leaders of the party are circulated through a leftwing rumour mill, the question remains…
What kind of party will Your Party be?
rs21 Greater Manchester are calling this meeting to build consensus in our city-region around 4 principles for Your Party:
Internal party democracy: we must ensure Your Party is neither dominated by career politicians nor unelected, unaccountable individuals but, rather, an organisation where everyone has equal say - Your Party should be for radical democracy.
Anti-oppression: we don’t compromise on Palestine, trans liberation, disability justice, sexism, racism or other matters of oppression - Your Party must be anti-oppression.
Community and workplace organising to build class power: we won’t concede to electoralism; we will build class power across our communities in tenants unions, anti-raid groups, police monitoring activities, mutual aid, neighbourhood assemblies, community kitchens, leftwing social centres and more - Your Party must be for class and community power.
Anti-capitalist, anti-imperialist approaches to the state: Your Party shouldn't accept being minor partners in a capitalist, imperialist state; we will never administer imperialism and capitalism that destroy lives and planet; we will fight for Your Party to transform the world - Your Party must be anti-capitalist and anti-imperialist.
Join us at this free event for discussion so we can take action to make Your Party democratic, anti-oppression, for class and community power, anti-capitalist and anti-imperialist. There will also be food available at the event.

Democracy. Liberation. Struggle. Power.
N/B. about this event: the event is being planned to allow for plenty of discussion between attendees (rather than being structured around contributions from ‘top table’ speakers) and with a view to all of us organising together going forward. Whilst rs21 Greater Manchester are hosting this and setting the terms of initial meeting(s), our hope and intention is to widen this out to a collaborative project.
Access information: The Collier Room is on the second floor of the Methodist Central Hall. There is a wheelchair lift at the entrance on Oldham Street, and then a lift to the second floor in the reception area. We will have a HEPA filter in the room. Please contact us with any queries.
