Queer Theatre’s
1st Birthday Party
Friday 19th September 2025
Two Brewers, Clapham
One year ago, Queer Theatre was born with a bold ambition: to create a qQeer theatre company that offered events every single week of the year. A place where LGBTQIA+ theatre-makers could meet, grow and ensure no one would ever have to feel alone again.
In just twelve months, we’ve built something extraordinary.
- Every Monday, our 2B: Acting Classes for LGBTQIA+ People have become a creative home for queer performers.
- Our monthly Queer Play Reading Club has given voice to new queer playwrights and introduced our members to writers including Alexi Kaye Campbell, Nathaniel J. Hall, Michael Dennis, Evan Placey and Jennifer Lunn.
- We’ve produced three OutCast showcases to spotlight queer actors and writers.
- We’ve welcomed Sir Stephen Fry, Sir Ian McKellen, Mary Mac, Cassidy Janson and many more to inspire and meet our members via our relaunch of The Show People Podcast.
- We proudly welcomed Adele Anderson and Sir Stephen Fry as our patrons alongside Martin Sherman and Annette Badland.
- We’ve hosted pizza and movie nights, trips to the Zoo on Valentine’s Day, and countless post-class socials where lasting friendships have been forged.
- We’ve marched at Pride in London, Trans+ Pride London and attended events for World AIDS Day and the Trans Day of Remembrance.
- We hosted the first Queer Theatre Awards and Festive Feast
- And our members have gone on to shine in productions as actors, writers and directors both in programming and beyond.
Now, it’s time to all come together and celebrate! Expect a night filled with familiar faces from our classes, clubs and showcases, alongside special VIP guests dropping by to raise a glass with us.
