The Clock (1945)
EVERY SECOND A HEART BEAT
Join us for one of the finest romance films Hollywood ever produced + a surprise short! 💙
After a chance encounter in Penn Station, Alice (Judy Garland) and young soldier Joe (Robert Walker) spend two days falling in love as they stroll the streets of New York City. Under the nimble direction of the great Vincente Minnelli (newly wed to Garland at the time), The Clock gorgeously captures the thrill and clumsiness of love’s first steps, the ebb and flow of intimacy in the midst of urban chaos. Judy Garland, incredible as always, anchors the film with disarming vulnerability and charm — it is worth seeing for her close-ups alone.
Doors open at 7:00pm. The screening will start at 7:30pm in the basement of Farr’s Dalston, after a short intro by programmer Amos Levin.
