Queer Flamenco Workshop
1st October | 18:30–20:30
Join Patricia Langa, a Barcelona-born dance artist, choreographer, and director of Eric Longa, the company behind the acclaimed production Cabrolé!, for a queer flamenco physical exploration!
In this flamenco-inspired movement workshop, Patricia draws on flamenco’s rich history as a creative tool, offering you the opportunity to explore and express your identity through movement, and to discover the new possibilities flamenco can open for you.
The session will begin with a flamenco-inspired warm-up, introducing the form and its narratives. In the second half, through creative exercises, we’ll explore the fantastical storytelling of Lola Flores (La Faraona) and the more mundane expression of La Martirio to find our own unique voice and movement language.
This workshop invites you to express who you are within flamenco, and to discover how it can expand your relationship with your queerness and creativity.
No previous flamenco experience is needed, just a willingness to explore and uncover a new side of yourself through flamenco.
