Jamie Hale and Lucy Webster, in conversation with Lalah-Simone Springer
Join us for a unique event, celebrating queer disabled activism and creativity. Hear from Jamie Hale, award-winning poet, playwright, and Artistic Director of CRIPtic Arts, and writer, journalist, community organiser and disability advocate Lucy Webster, in conversation with Lalah-Simone Springer, poet, fiction writer, creative facilitator and performance artist. Collectively, their experience in the arts and activism is astonishing!
A chance to hear both Jamie and Lucy read from their work and talk about their careers and experiences in disability arts and activism. They’ll be a Q&A and attendees are encouraged to use the event to explore their own practice of arts activism and/or disability advocacy. This is a chance to learn from the best!
You’ll also be treated to readings from our wonderful eff-able contributors Cat Chong, Chloe Clarke, Rick Dove, Jackson Phoenix Nash, Claire Sosienski Smith, and hear what arts and activism means to them. A fantastic way to round off an effing fabulous year of the Arts Council-funded project, celebrating queer crip sex and sexiness.
Hosted by George Violet Parker and JP Seabright, with copies of the eff-able anthology (as well as our guests’ books) available to buy.
This event is BYOB. Water, tea and coffee will be available free of charge.
All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Queercircle to support the work they do for the queer and trans community, in addition to any further donations made.
