“I truly hope this is the beginning of a deeper connection between us - not only as people from different worlds, but as two hearts that refuse to turn away from one another.” (Abdulhai)
Amidst systemic erasure and fascism, how can we turn to one another in active resistance and sustain hope?
In the chaos of genocides around the world, forming ties across communities becomes more urgent. Through rest, play and solidarity, we can renew our commitments for collective liberation.
As a fundraiser for our friends in Gaza, we want to connect with people through an evening of food, communal sharing and arts. In this gathering, we will bring homemade vegan snacks in a potluck style for attendees to munch and yap. There will also be a portrait doodling workshop, open mic and karaoke to end off the night.
Counter Archives is an independent archive and co-research space. We will be selling our zines - one of them is made in collaboration with Abduhai to archive his memories and remembering stories from Palestine.
Join us in resisting and caring while honouring histories, memories and dreams!
