At The Writers Club, our aim is to cultivate spaces that nurture your creativity.
In our next virtual workshop, British-Nigerian writer and director Temi Yussuf will guide and provide the tools to help you discover and explore the lens that shapes your storytelling while nurturing your unique voice.
Temi Yussuf is a British Nigerian writer and director based in London, passionate about telling stories that explore social issues and emotional truths beneath everyday life.
Her BAFTA-qualifying short film Step Back marked a pivotal point in her career, showcasing her ability to merge powerful, character-driven storytelling with a strong visual sensibility.
She was shortlisted for the 2024 Merky Books New Writers' Prize, and has collaborated with organisations such as BFI, Wondery, and Your Cinema Films, and continues to champion creativity as a collective practice.
Her heart is for nurturing emerging talent. Through her ongoing work with Mediorite, Temi has served as a juror for their film festivals, led public conversations, and workshops to support creatives in finding their voice.

I’m looking forward to the next one !!! I really felt encouraged and motivated to start writing again and also felt connected with the others in the room through the shared experience of writing.
This is such a pertinent space ! It’s be amazing if future retreats could take place , seminar sessions with established writers , and just generally the regularity of the time to write with other writers ! Thank you for creating this sacred space !
This was an incredibly special event, the community of people was the best bit as well as the writing prompts and books around for inspiration.
