Romancero Books x Lady Olé -
V Anniversary Party - Official Party
with DJ Selbor + Larga DJ
Lady Olé is a community event and dance party based in London, celebrating all things pop, queer, and dance. Making its strongest emphasis on bringing the Spanish LGBTQIA+ community together, it bridges Spanish and international queer club cultures reaching out to a wide international audience playing the best in Spanish, Latín, and international pop.
Lady Olé keeps facilitating the playground where connections happen and lifetime networks of support, friendships, and LGBTQIA+ families have a starting point. They celebrate their cultural values by showcasing Spanish queer sensibilities to people from all backgrounds and nationalities taking pride in being a welcoming, easy-going, and life-affirming party.
Over a decade since they started, they have participated in pride events around Europe and taken their parties to many cities (Berlin, Madrid, Manchester, Barcelona) and festivals (Diversa, As One In The Park, Pride Rome, London Queer History Month).
Lady Olé is Alejandro Asencio's brainchild that came after its predecessor, the award-winning Pelucas y Tacones, dissolved in 2015 after a decade of epic events.
Selbor DJ
Selbor is a Spanish artist and DJ based in London, whose work ranges from melodic house to indie dance and cosmic disco. His single ‘Your Love’, released on the prestigious Permanent Vacation label —with a remix by Hot Chip— put him on the international radar. This was followed by Lava in the Sky, released by Kitsuné Musique, further strengthening his global profile.
His debut album was endorsed by Radio 3 and Wonderland Magazine and chosen as Album of the Month by DJ Mag Spain, consolidating his place as one of the most original voices in contemporary electronic music. His music has been supported by artists such as Honey Dijon, Roman Flügel and Caribou. As a DJ, Selbor combines his eclectic influences to deploy a sound universe that balances energy and emotion, connecting with the dance floor in a unique way.
Larga DJ is the Queen of Spanish trash.
A London resident for over two decades, she left her native Salamanca to enjoy life in London. Lover of the electroclash scene of the early 2000s, Larga DJ was born at the infamous Pelucas y Tacones parties in Shoreditch, where she was a regular community member. She was approached by the organiser and was offered a gig.
When Pelucas y Tacones dissolved, she then became one of the residents of Lady Olé where she has played ever since. Becoming a magnet for the LGBTQIA Spanish community in London, she has then played at pop parties like Gayzpacho, Vauxhall's Drag Race Spain viewing party, and Manchagen Festival in Manchester.
Her sets, often unpredictable, messy, and crazy are an extension of her energetic and happy personality.
This party is the result of the long-waited collaboration with Lady Olé
