What is Queer Digital Detox?
It’s a gentle, in-person space for queer people who are feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, or just bloody sick of being online all the time. These events are about slowing down, switching off, and reconnecting—with yourself, with others, and with what actually feels good.
This is for you if...
- You’re feeling frazzled, burnt out, or like your brain’s got too many tabs open
- You’ve been craving real-life queer connection that doesn’t revolve around bars, dating apps or big social energy
- You’re tired of the pressure to perform, explain yourself, or be “on” all the time
- You want to rest, create, potter, or just sit in a comfy chair without anyone asking why
- You’re trying to take a break from the endless scroll and actually give your nervous system a bit of a breather
- You miss the feeling of queer community in real life—or maybe you’ve never really had it and want to see what it could be like
Where is it?
This month’s Queer Digital Detox is heading indoors ❄️
For December, we’ll be gathering at First Draft Bar — a warm, welcoming space where we can properly thaw out, settle in, and switch off together. As much as we love The Lion’s Den, the current weather calls for more than just a fire to keep us going. We’ll be back there in the spring when sitting outdoors feels joyful rather than character-building!
When is it?
Wednesday 17th December, 7.30–9.30pm
Normally, Queer Digital Detox runs on the last Wednesday of the month, but December is… well, December. With Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve falling midweek, we’re bringing it forward slightly so it doesn’t clash with festive plans and end-of-year chaos.
