Censorship is not creeping in — it’s coming for us, and it’s ruthless. Around the globe, artists are being threatened, erased, and shut down. And yet they fight back. They challenge, provoke, and refuse to bow.
Art becomes political when it is the last voice we have. When truth is at stake. When propaganda, laws, and fear attempt to put a lid on what people see, what people feel. To imagine, to create, to insist on spirit — that is resistance.
If we do not act, silence wins. We cannot stay quiet. We will not look away. Defend the art that refuses to be erased. Because once art is silenced, it’s society’s conscience that goes missing.
We will have poetry, live music, DJs and above all a space for discussion and contribution.
The exhibition will stay up for 4 weeks, the art work will be available to purchase with the proceeds from this as well as the exhibition launch itself serving as a fundraiser for The Sameer Project, a Palestinian-led initiative providing urgent aid to displaced families in Gaza.
Proceeds from the event will support the distribution of essential supplies such as food, water, shelter, and medical assistance to those affected by ongoing crises.
By supporting this cause, attendees contribute to delivering aid with dignity, ensuring that assistance is provided in a manner that respects the humanity of the recipients.
Limited free tickets available, otherwise tickets are £5 or Pay What you Can. If cost is a barrier, just message me @DaPicnik. We want everyone to be part of this, and no one will be turned away.
