Come on a night walk and take part in a traditional bonfire night - fire torch procession with fireworks display, near Dorking, Surrey. We’ll start with a short walk to a pub, then walk to the event and join the procession (fire torches will be provided!) to light the bonfire (if we’re lucky!) before watching the fireworks display and heading home. Entry fee is included in the ticket cost. IMPORTANT: Read below for what to bring and what to expect!

Distance: 10km / 6 miles
Difficulty rating: Beginner
Walking time: 2.5 hours
Kit needed: Comfortable shoes you don't mind getting muddy, a torch/flashlight (the walk to the procession/display will be down an unlit country road), warm clothes (hat/gloves), food/snacks, water and personal medication.
Accessibility: This walk will be on likely muddy and dark roads/footpaths, there will be no gates/stiles to climb. The fire torch procession will involve walking in a crowd with or next to people carrying fire, meaning it will be smoky. The crowd will be calm, with all age groups including children taking part but it will be busy. You are welcome to come and enjoy the bonfire and fireworks display without taking part in the fire procession, if wanted - but it’s very fun! There are wheelchair accessible toilets at the train station and at the pub. Toilets (not wheelchair accessible) will be available at the fireworks display area.

The walk will take place in any weather, including rain (except in the case of a severe weather warning), so please be prepared to be outside for hours in all weather (see kit list).
Refunds will be available (minus a £10 admin fee) until 12pm on the day. Email outtohike@gmail.com to let me know.
By booking you accept that joining a walk comes with some element of risk.
You are responsible for keeping yourself safe (i.e. being responsible with fire, being careful on slippery surfaces/near electric fences/barbed wire) and not putting people or property at risk.
You are responsible for making sure you are medically fit to join the walk - inform me of any medical conditions I need to be aware of to keep you and other people safe.
