Anita’s Room, Brighton Dome | Tickets: Free (booking required)
Short summary
A workshop exploring visibility, performance, and the politics of looking - who gets to be seen, and on whose terms? Led by Hi Campers, with support from Possability People.
Full Description
Visibility can be both empowering and exposing. For disabled people, it often comes with risk, curiosity, and control - who gets to look, and who decides how we are seen?
In this open conversation, we invite disabled people to explore the idea of “the gaze” in performance. Through conversation we’ll consider how disabled bodies are framed and perceived, and how we can reclaim agency in that act of looking.
This session forms part of the redevelopment process for How Disabled Are You?, Tommy’s award-winning show, currently in development at Brighton Dome.
