Spectra Presents: A Film, My Body, a film by Maar Dinu
📅 Wednesday 12 November
🕖 7.00pm
📍 UCL East Community Cinema – One Pool Street
We’re really pleased to present A Film, My Body; a deeply personal work from one of our recent UCL East alumni on the MA in Ethnographic and Documentary Film.
Blending digital and analogue techniques, this experimental video essay explores the relationship between the human body and the film’s body, both undergoing processes of transformation to reach their final form. From the mechanical alteration of a camera lens, to needling performance art, to the creation and reworking of analogue images. As the film develops, scratches, and reassembles itself, it mirrors the body’s own processes of change, healing, and self-definition.
⚠️ Please note: A Film, My Body contains graphic imagery of body modification performance art.
The screening will be followed by Queer Camp by Chris Westendorp & Lucas van der Rhee. Queer Camp offers an intimate glimpse into the world of a queer youth summer camp, where young people spend a week among peers who share similar experiences and questions of identity.
