WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
You may know by now that Manchester Pride has recently and unexpectedly declared insolvency meaning that countless artists, freelancers, and suppliers have not been paid for work undertaken earlier this year - including Fatt Projects. We are the producer of Ginny Lemon's Dog Show (basically Pride pay us to organise the event and pay all the creatives involved), It is always my priority to pay any artists & freelancers we work with as quickly as possible, and so regularly we pay individual’s invoices before we have received payment from whoever booked us (in this case Manchester Pride). With MCR Pride declaring insolvency, Fatt Projects is now out of pocket £2775.00 and it is extremely unlikely we will be able to recover this through the insolvency process. We are a small non-profit company, we don't have reserves, it's hand to mouth. The money we are owed covers rent of our office space (where we store set, costumes, equipment), insurance, accountant fees, electricity, wifi, equipment, our time, all the basic things we need to keep a company going - and without it will be very difficult for Fatt Projects to keep going.
Any money that we raise beyond the £2775.00 will be donated to support other artists and freelancers impacted by Manchester Pride's insolvency.
