End Extractivism: A Roundtable Discussion on Resource Extraction and People's Resistance
Extractivism is the draining of resources like metals, oil, timber, and even human labor to generate capital - a global phenomenon driven by imperialism. Wealth from extraction is concentrated in the hands of multinational corporations and imperialist nations, while local communities bear the environmental, social, and economic costs, often turned into “sacrifice zones” by local elites.
As extractivism and imperialist plunder intensify, disguised as “development” or “green growth,” it is urgent to build pro-people alternatives. We invite you to join our roundtable to discuss strategies for resisting extractivism, amplifying community struggles, and advancing anti-imperialist solidarity.
