Big Queer Picnic presents
🌈QUEER SPEED MATING: Memory in the Making🌈
(like speed dating, but for mates, you perverts)
Ever feel like you want to find your very own queer friend group in London but don’t know where to start? Come along to Speed Mating and meet dozens of other queers looking for pals too! With drinks, music, games and ice breakers to help you get the conversation flowing, come along and make connections and friends all in a safe, welcoming and structured environment - nestled in a room at the London Queer Mart, meaning when you're done making pals, you can explore the market and do some Christmas shopping together. This time, we're also joined by the team from the London Museum, who will be leading on a crafting activity while you make friends:
Memory in the Making Workshops- honouring London’s Queer Performance spaces
Join us to create a unique pennant celebrating your memories of queer performance culture in London. Your piece will become part of a collaborative installation at the new London Museum, opening in Smithfield later in 2026. Created by artist E.M Parry alongside the Museum’s Drag Advisory Panel, the Memory in the Making project honours the queer spaces that shape our city and explores what performance, identity and power mean to you. Let’s celebrate the queer spaces and stories that we cherish.
