Poetry Open Mic
Come join us at The Roasting Shed for a night of community and poetic exchange.
Whether you're a seasoned poet or just trying it out for the first time, our Poetry Open Mic is a warm inclusive place to share your creativity. Grab a cup of coffee, or wine, step up to the mic, and let your words flow. Open mic sign ups start at 6:30pm.
We are also very happy to announce that we will have two featured poets: Leo Boix and C.H. Lieberman.
Leo is a bilingual Latinx poet, born in Argentina and based in London, whose work spans continents, languages, and identities. His second collection, Southernmost: Sonnets (Chatto & Windus, 2025), was shortlisted for the Forward Prizes for Poetry and praised by The Guardian, The Telegraph, and The Morning Star for its lyrical power and fearless engagement with queer, diasporic experience. Boix's debut English collection, Ballad of a Happy Immigrant (Chatto & Windus, 2021), was a Poetry Book Society Wild Card Choice and named one of The Guardian’s top five poetry books of the year.
C.H. is a queer writer, performer, and visual artist from South London. He is the author of award-winning play Bunny Man, and he recently finished touring his second show J.O.I.. His poetry has appeared in & Change, t'ART Magazine, Trans Tongues, new words {press}, and others; his artwork also featured on the cover of & Change Issue 10.
