The Norfolk LGBTQ+ Project is excited for you to join us at our Trans Swim event at the OASIS swimming pool in Scratby, Great Yarmouth! This health and wellbeing event is open to trans, non-binary and gender questioning adults- 18+. Come get active, swim, and connect with others in a safe and inclusive environment. Whether you're a seasoned swimmer or just looking to dip your toes in the water, all skill levels are welcome. So grab your swimsuit and towel, and dive in with us at Trans Swim!
Attendees will have private use of the OASIS pool for the duration of the event from 6:00-7:30PM. This means the only people present at the pool, other than lifeguards, will be those attending the event. Plese see photos below to get a feel for the privacy of the space. Location: The OASIS pool is based within the grounds of the California Sands holiday park in Scratby. Upon entering the holiday park from California Road, please continue to down the main road through the park. You will come to a fork in the road and will see a blue sign on your left which lists the OASIS pool with an arrow to follow straight ahead. Follow the road to the right past the sign and you will arrive at the OASIS pool building.
Parking: There is ample free parking available at the site, including accessible parking right outside the building.
Accessibility: The building enterance is all on one level and the door is wide enough for a standard wheelchair. Unfortunalty, there is no hoist assisted entry into the pool. Accessible changing facilities are available- see below for details.
Changing Rooms, Toilets and Showers: There are 11 gender neutral individual changing cubicles poolside. These are not accessible. There is one gender neutral, accessible changing room and toilet. There are male and female toilets with several individual cubicles in each, but for the duration of our event these are gender neutral and you can use the space the you feel most comfortable in. There are 4 gender neutral, communal showers poolside. There are no private showers.
Swimwear: You are welcome to wear what makes you feel most comfortable, as long as your bottom half is covered. Please ensure that your clothing is safe to swim in- not too baggy or heavy when it is wet.
