The Two Brewers, Clapham
(Only 100 Tickets Available)
The award-winning Show People Podcast with Andrew Keates continues its live monthly residency at The Two Brewers with an icon of popular culture, Marina Sirtis.
Marina is a British actress beloved worldwide for her iconic role as Counselor Deanna Troi in Star Trek: The Next Generation, its feature films, and later in Star Trek: Picard and other series. She has also appeared in many, many acclaimed series including NCIS, Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, Titans, Young Justice, The Orville and more, as well as films such as the Oscar winning, Crash, Gargoyles, The Grudge 3, and has even been seen in many Hallmark movies too.
On stage, she made her stage debut after leaving the Guildhall School of Music and Drama to play Ophelia in Hamlet (Connaught Theatre, Worthing) and never looked back. She made her West End debut as Marianne in Dark Sublime at Trafalgar Studios – a love letter to British sci-fi television – directed by our host Andrew Keates, as well as playing roles such as Nurse Fay in Loot (Hartford Stage, Connecticut), Diana Barrie in Hotel Suite by Neil Simon (Walnut Street Theatre, Philadelphia) and Esmerelda in The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Belgrade, Coventry).
Although she’s been interviewed many times on screen and at conventions, Marina rarely sits down for an in-depth podcast conversation. This special live recording promises an honest, open exploration of her life and career across stage, television and film, from Star Trek to her move back to the UK after the death of her husband, rebuilding a new chapter of work and home here. Expect stories about working on new UK projects such as Channel 5’s cosy crime drama The Sunshine Murders with Peter Andre, alongside recent screen roles in titles like Love’s Greek to Me, The Phantom Warrior, Dream Hacker and even working with Star Trek co-star Michael Dorn on a new movie…
Marina is also famously outspoken about justice and politics, from Brexit and immigration to the state of American democracy, so don’t be surprised if the conversation turns to activism, her anger and of course, her beloved football team, Spurs! As well as fandom, grief and what' she’s learnt, boldly going, where no woman has gone before.
