Post-ORFC Black and People of Colour Caucus
Land in Our Names are delighted to be returning six years later to Oxford with other Black & People of Colour visionaries for our third BPOC Caucus, and our second Post-Oxford Real Farming Conference BPOC Caucus, to fortify our land-based movement!
This event is for Black and People of Colour Only
We will be convening BPOC attendees, speakers and workers at ORFC as well as our wider network at The Nest in central Oxford for an afternoon on Saturday 10th January
This will be a space of connection and reflection with BPOC growers, farmers, and landworkers. We will open the day with a grounding, introductions and tea and snacks. We will then have delicious Lebanese food for lunch, followed by a short presentation of our Land Vision, activities and a film screening.
All of the food will be Halal and we will ensure that there are vegan and gluten free options. However we cannot accommodate every intolerance and allergies. Please let us know any important information when booking your tickets.
At the end of November 2025, we shared our visions for the land. We’ve raised £200,000 to establish a BPOC led and centred land project. But this is just the beginning. We want to hear from our community, share our latest draft of our business plan, and raise more funds to make our vision a reality. This Caucus is another opportunity for us to share our vision for a land project and how we will get there.
This Caucus will also be a space to connect with each other, map our ecosystem and deepen our relationships. We will learn about the collaboration between Material Cultures and Black Rootz at Pasteur Gardens in North London, engage our radical imagination with cee-cee manriquez and Sam Siva, and collaboratively create a dynamic map of the work we are all engaging in and what our needs are.
