10 Queer Years of Femmme Fraiche – Long Live the Dyke Renaissance.
We set out 10 years ago, to start a party to create a platform for FLINTA artists and to provide a space for the Dyke Community, we never imagined we’d still be here, going strong 10 years later. A Whole decade of Femmme Fraiche, 59 parties at Dalston Superstore. 30 Stage takeovers at 17 different venues, 138 Guest DJ’s, 39 Performers, 7 Designers, 5 Photographers, 5 Video installations, 4 resident DJ’s, 2 promoters and a partridge in a pair tree. FLINTASTOTHEFRONT every step of the way.
On Fri 9th January, we celebrate 10 years in the game, headlined by THE ICONIC BIG ANG in the basement. A pioneer of Bassline and Speed Garage from the early 00’s, her bootleg bassline mash-ups made her a legend on the Garage scene from the early 00’s to today and anyone who witnessed her set at Field Maneuvers will testify, this is one iconic set not to be missed. Warming up the basement, keeping with the UKG vibes, Twice Shy aka Zoe Agiros of Gay Garage, rounded off by a special Garage closing set from our resident Michelle Manetti.
Upstairs in the Bar, opening up the birthday proceedings, Gal Pals head pal DJ XZAN an open format DJ, known for their hyperactive, genre-defying sets - expect bootlegs, mashups and all your party faves seamlessly blended for your listening pleasure. Followed by a DSS fave DJ Doll, serving cunty pop bangers, and slaggy queer anthems, and finally upstairs wouldn’t be complete without our resident duo of Fraicheness Darren & Linzi with twisted pop, trash-tastic faves, and all your guilty pleasures.
On gogo duties, two of our Femmme Fraiche firm faves and regulars Danni Spooner and Than The Freak with, ass-shakin’ sexy, stupendous bar-top antics.
