Draw Dancers
The next Draw Dancers life drawing will be with Rowan For Now! They will model and perform The Ghost of Heteronormativity, inviting you to illustrate their journey from the Disney Princess bride, to their raw, naked, queer self. Pose by pose stripping away each layer, just as a snake sheds its skin.
Sunday 25th 5:30-7:30pm atThe Bees Mouth.
Paper and basic drawing materials are provided, artists are welcome to bring their own.
Rowan For Now is a multidisciplinary artist who gains most of their inspiration whilst naked and deeply submerged in a bath. Their creative process begins with the body: its memories, fantasies, and desires. They wander the line of life imitating art and art imitating life, creating self-portraits in motion - an evolving exploration of identity, transformation, and the act of becoming. The Ghost of Heteronormativity dances through the dangers of heteronormative conditioning into queer fluidity. From problematic nostalgia to queer seduction. Shedding constructs. A happily never after… Photo credit: Holly Revell
