Come and make a card with Rachel Collier-Wilson
Saturday 14 February 10 - 12pm
Come and learn or refresh your skills the art of linocut printmaking with experienced artist printmaker Rachel Collier-Wilson. We will provide a relaxed, inclusive environment to explore your creativity.
Starting with drawing, designing and creating your own images; safely cut the lino block; ink the plate; and hand-print your design. Once completed, you will have a block to take away with you to use again and several handmade prints.
The workshop will include
• All materials
• Explanation of relief printing and looking at examples.
• Introduction to equipment and cutting techniques.
• Planning an image and cutting the design.
• Use of rollers and how to ink up your block.
• How to print with both a press and with a wooden spoon.
Experience level
Beginner and/or those wishing to refresh their skills.
Maximum of 10 participants.
Please dress warmly as it can be a bit chilly in the St Margaret's Gallery, and also you may get messy.

- There is an accessible toilets on site, and level access in the gallery; some of the floor areas are uneven, but these are clearly signposted.
