Come join us at The Roasting Shed for a night of community and poetic exchange.
Whether you're a seasoned poet or just trying it out for the first time, our Poetry Open Mic is a warm inclusive place to share your creativity. Grab a cup of coffee, or wine, step up to the mic, and let your words flow. Open mic sign ups start at 6:30pm.
We are delighted to have two new fabulous featured poets: JP Seabright and Clara-Læïla Laudette.
JP Seabright (she/they) is a queer disabled writer living in London. They have seven solo pamphlets published and four collaborations, encompassing poetry, prose and experimental work. JP explores themes of gender, sexuality, trauma, technology and the climate crisis in her work, and has been nominated for Pushcart Prize, Best of the Net, Forward Prize, and shortlisted (twice) for a Saboteur Award for Best Collaborative Work. They are co-editor and organiser of the Arts Council England funded project eff-able.
Clara-Læïla is a writer, journalist and facilitator. A semifinalist in the Adrienne Rich Award for Poetry, she won Magma Judge’s Prize, placed third in the Poetry London Prize and was shortlisted for the Oxford Poetry Prize, Aesthetica Creative Writing Award, and longlisted for the National Poetry Competition, among others. Her poems are forthcoming or have appeared in Poetry Review, Propel, Beloit Poetry Journal, fourteen poems, And Other Poems, Ink Sweat & Tears, Wet Grain, and more. Of French-Moroccan descent, Clara-Læïla translates from and into French, English and Spanish.
