Tie the Knot is a queer-centred tantric shibari workshop exploring connection, presence, and intentional touch through rope, breath, and awareness.
This workshop blends the art of shibari with tantric principles, inviting participants to explore giving and receiving, structure and surrender, sensation and stillness. The focus is not on performance or complex rope patterns, but on conscious connection, communication, and embodied experience.
You’ll be guided through learning some basic rope exercises that are undertaken both individually and in pairs, allowing space to explore your own relationship with touch and restraint, as well as shared experiences of trust and attunement. Partner work will include clear consent practices, check-ins, and options to observe or adapt as needed.
This is a queer-affirming, trauma-aware, and consent-led space. No prior experience of shibari or tantra is required. You are welcome to come with a partner or solo; pairings will be optional and facilitated with care.
Expect:
- Grounding and opening practices
- Clear consent frameworks and communication tools
- Tantric approaches to shibari and rope
- A respectful, exploratory atmosphere
Come as you are — curious, cautious, excited, or unsure. This is a space to learn, feel, and connect at your own pace.
