Boycott as a Political Strategy for Cultural Workers
Other Cinemas and Decolonial Centre invite you to a gathering to discuss boycott as a political strategy for cultural workers resisting institutional complicity in genocidal wars today. How do we sustain and expand the boycott movement while working within British institutions? What have the past few years taught us about the possibilities and limitations of boycott as a political tool? In what ways can boycott demands inform our cultural work itself? How do we act with political consistency in a world of multiple sub-imperialisms and how do we practice solidarity beyond boycott as cultural workers?
To help us reflect on these points, the session will consist of a short collective reading followed by a discussion. We hope you're able to join us at Metroland Studios (see here for directions on how to find us). We will provide snacks and teas.
The venue is wheelchair accessible and has 2 accessible toilets on the ground floor where the event will be held.
