Join us Friday 8th May - Sunday 10th May for a weekend of Camping, Paddle Boarding, Swimming, Walks, Campfire & more! Come & meet other OLWers, meet our crew and make new friends near Luss or Crianlarich (Exact location will be sent to ticket holders prior to event)
All LGBTQ+ women and non-binary people are welcome, you don't have to have a ticket for Oban Lesbian Weekend, but it helps!
WHILE WE LOVE OUR FURRY FRIENDS, DOG TICKETS ARE LIMITED AND ON A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED BASIS!
This will be our 4th time Lochside mini OLW camping - we love it. We've been really lucky with the weather, which is ideal for our evening campfire on the Loch.
WILD CAMPING WITH PLEASANT PORTAPOTTIES!
NB: We've tried proper campsites and Loch Lomond's bookable wild camping and we've found the wild camping works best - freedom to have our campfire where we want and generally just our group in our area
WHAT’S ON:
PADDLEBOARDING / KAYAKING / SUNBATHING (sun is subject to availability!)
- Please bring your own paddleboards, kayaks, life jackets and body boards if you have them.
- We have invested in more paddle boards. Bring your own or DM to reserve one of our boards or if you would like to borrow a lifejacket.
- We have a fully qualified, Paddleboard instructor for our taster sessions. It’s great to see people learning and coming away with a new hobby!
- On booking, please let us know if you are bringing a padddle board or would like to borrow one.
- If you want to borrow a paddle board, please email obanlesbianweekend@gmail.com or DM to book. We have limited numbers of boards, so first booked, get them but we have all weekend, so you’ll at least get a taster session.
- Loch rules are that life jackets must be worn at all times on paddle boards or Kayaks on Loch Lomond, please contact us if you need to borrow one. Please note, all swimming and paddle boarding is undertaken at your own risk. Please do not enter the water after drinking.
SWIMMING
- We will have swimming sessions run by a level 2 open water swimming instructor.
- We have a few extra wetsuits, please email us if you’d like to borrow one but hopefully we’ll have glorious may weather again = wet suit not required!
- Please bring a swimming float if you have one, we have a few spares.
WALKS
- We have beautiful Loch side tracks going right round the loch & the option for a hill top walk.
- We will have group walks, a great chance to meet others while enjoying the fresh air and scenery.
GROUP LUNCH & BBQ
- Please bring a picnic and some bbq food for the evenings.
FIRE PIT BY THE LOCH
- Join our loch side fire pit, toast some marshmallows & socialise. This is a great chance to get to know other Oban Lesbian Weekenders and maybe even sing a few campfire songs.

DOGS
- We love our furry friends! Please buy a free dog ticket, so we know how many to expect.
- Please consider how your dog reacts to other dogs and be responsible for your dog, considering others who may be nervous around dogs.

LIFTSHARES
NB: POSSIBLE LOCATION CHANGE
- We will confirm our exact location to ticket holders a few days before. Loch Lomond area rangers have had maintenance on their sites, so unfortunately they are unable to confirm until May. We all need to be able to plan, so we've decided to stick with 8th - 10th May weekend, and we have a choice of locations, so as long as you're prepared to have a great time, have proper wild camping with our own portapotties, and the beautiful loch as our bath, you'll be in line for an amazing weekend.
- To give you an idea, we will be 44-55 miles from Glasgow.
- In the unlikely event we can't use the location we want, our back up location is around 15 miles further from Glasgow and will give us wild camping right on the loch, just not Loch Lomond but every bit as beautiful. There are also no public toilets at our alternative location, so it will be the great bush toilet or if need be we'll look into a toilet tent.

- You are also welcome to come and enjoy without paddleboarding or wild swimming!
- We'll have all the wood, bbq stuff & marshmallows for our campfires - you just bring what you'd like to eat & drink.
- Children are welcome. £12 per person. Normally we only have a few children but we want this event to be accessible to those with children, who may not be able to come otherwise.
- We only have limited spaces as we keep this event small & sweet, so don't delay!!
