The Defend People’s Struggle campaign aims to support people’s resistance against imperialist plunder, imperialist wars of aggression and imperialist-backed state fascism. It seeks to stand in solidarity with struggles for national liberation, while clearly exposing and challenging the British state’s complicity in global systems on exploitation, militarism and repression.
The campaign is grounded in the understanding that imperialism is not a policy choice but a global system rooted in monopoly capitalism, maintained through militarism, plunder and state repression. Periods of crisis intensify imperialist aggression abroad and reaction at home, while simultaneously creating the conditions for heightened resistance among oppressed peoples and exploited classes.
Within this context, the role of an anti-imperialist formation based in the imperialist core is not to speak on behalf of oppressed peoples, but to undermine imperialism at its source. This requires exposing the role of the British state in imperialist wars, resource extraction, counter-insurgency, and political repression while building political clarity and organised solidarity within Britain.
We invite you to participate in our open campaign launch, where we will be discussing the campaign, how groups would like to participate, and what activities we'll be having throughout the coming year.
