Born from dockyard grit and the spirit of underground queer spaces of the 1980s, The Loading Bay draws from a time when Folkestone Harbour was still a working, grimy station and port. This is an underground night carved out of sweat and rust — much like the old loading bay itself.
The late shift has ended. The last ships and trains have departed. The hard day is over, and something raw begins. It’s time to drop your guard, be yourself, meet others like you, who’ve put in the hours, and let the night take over.
A late-night space shaped by workwear, grit, and queer energy.
