Masterclass Sunday: Story Surgery with Evie Wyld
Join us for the next fabulous Masterclass Sunday when we host a two hour story surgery with prize-winning author Evie Wyld. This masterclass will suit writers of all abilites who would like to have the chance to ask questions and learn from one of Britain's leading contemporary novelists.
Evie will talk about her writing practice, diagnose your writing ailments and give practical advice on how to tackle the most thorniest of your concerns, however big or small. Ahead of the masterclass we will invite attendees to submit 500 words of writing, then during the masterclass Evie will demonstrate LIVE how to approach a line edit. The line edit is the final check of the nuts and bolts in a sentence structure. Once you've cracked this and realise how this works, you've got the building block towards a whole short story, or novel.
This is an exciting chance to get a unique prescription towards a healthier writing practice.

Evie Wyld is the award-winning author of four novels and one graphic novel. She has won the Betty Trask Award, Miles Franklin Award, John Llewellyn Rhys Prize, Encore Award, Jerwood Fiction Prize and the European Union Prize. In 2013 she was included in Granta’s once-a-decade list of Best of Young British Novelists. She is a fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and helps run an independent bookshop in Peckham called Review.
